Mike Ennis is a FloridaMakes Business Advisor supporting manufacturing clients along Florida’s Space Coast, working directly with the Manufacturers Association of Florida's Space Coast(MASC) at the Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast.  

Michael holds a Master of Science in Management of Technology from the University of Miami and a Bachelor of Science from Barry University.  

He has been working in manufacturing since 1982 after 6-years in the US Navy serving aboard fleet ballistic submarines.  Michael supported the space shuttle program as an engineer for McDonnell-Douglas for 19 years at Kennedy Space Center.  He then went to Washington DC as a Project Manager for Total Resource Management. There, he led project teams installing the Maximo Computerized Maintenance Management System at Naval Bases and Veteran’s Hospitals along the east coast and mid-west. After 5-years, he went to Harris Corporation in Palm Bay, Florida, where he worked as a manufacturing engineer until 2020.  

Michael has been in leadership roles in areas such as cable harness assembly, spacecraft assembly and checkout, software development and implementation as well as clean-room facility operation and maintenance.

Michael is also an Adjunct Professor at Eastern Florida State College since 2005, teaching engineering courses in the evenings. He is a MSSC-Certified Production Technician instructor, as well as an IPC certified soldering and cable assembly instructor.

Michael also has been very active in community projects as a volunteer. He sat as the founding chair of the Manufacturing Association of the Space Coast (MASC).  He was a member of the National Visiting Committee for Florida Advanced Technological Educators (FLATE).  Michael was also a member of the National Aerospace Technical Advisory Committee (NATAC) for SpaceTEC, and on the Industry Advisory Committee for Engineering Technology Program at Eastern Florida State College.

Michael received the Hi – Tech “Industry Recognition Award" on July 23rd, 2013, at the Hi-Tec National Conference in Austin, Texas for work done for Harris employees towards assisting them in earning a degree in Engineering Technology.
